What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking a Part‑Time Senior Research Engineer in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. The Senior Research Engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing SMART Hub's impact across the defense spectrum innovation space and expanding to other stakeholders. This position focuses on three core responsibilities: (1) assisting military, government, and industry stakeholders in understanding and applying SMART Hub technologies to mission needs;
(2) coaching and supporting SMART Hub’s 25 research professors in preparing clear, informative presentations and technical demonstrations for periodic DoD engagements; and (3) tracking emerging DoD priorities, programs, and funding opportunities to help grow and establish SMART Hub as a Department of Defense Spectrum Innovation Center, and to align SMART Hub research with present and future defense needs.
A Doctoral degree and ten years of relevant work experience are required. A Doctoral degree and more than ten years of relevant work experience is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

- Ability to comply with university policies.
