Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center whenincrisis – every day, wehelp people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

Launched in September 2023, our location in Silver Spring, MD, is already home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers will build our adolescent, and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and nurses working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade

, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. This role will work with patients aged 18+ in our Mood & Anxiety Program and OCD Programs. As a Group Therapist at Compass, you’ll receive expert training that lays the foundation and cultivates expertise necessary for personal, clinical, and professional growth. Specifically, you’ll receive training and development in curriculum-based programming and evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. We also provide the opportunity for cross-training in our specialty areas, such as Trauma, Mental Health and Substance, and School Refusal.

* This is a 100% on-site position, Monday through Friday within the hours of 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM*

• Providing group therapy to patients in a safe and therapeutic milieu
• Developing effective therapeutic group relationships that promote positive change in patients
• Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as other evidence-based therapies
• Relaying relevant clinical information to treatment team during daily rounds and throughout the program day as needed
• Learning and implementing the Compass group curriculum especially to address patient needs
• Engaging in crisis management, as needed
• Charting in our electronic medical records system
• This position may also include meeting with patients individually or with family members
• Other duties as needed

• Passionate about facilitating group therapy and seeking an environment to work collaboratively with others
• Psychologist or Master’s level therapist
• Experience or interest in working with patients of varying diagnoses including Mood & Anxiety, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Trauma, Mental Health and Substance Use
• Hold the following licenses or education: LSW (or LSW eligible), LPC (or LPC eligible), LCSW, LCPC, PsyD, or PhD
• Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills
• Experience working in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting (preferred, not required)

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, your years of experience, type of experience, location, and education/certifications. Compass reserves the right to update these ranges.

$60,000 - $80,000 USD
