Transportation Engineer I's in this track will be performing engineering duties that review and investigate drainage problems affecting state highways and the hydraulic design of structures carrying waterways. This position will also have design responsibilities for storm drains, stormwater management facilities, and erosion & sediment control plans on state projects. Additional responsibilities will include performing hydrologic and hydraulic studies of structures over streams and rivers, including hydraulic design of bridges and culverts, scour safety determinations, and flooding evaluations.
EducationPossession of a bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering, civil engineering, or environmental engineering from an accredited college or university. Persons currently registered as Professional Engineers in the state of Maryland, or in a state with comparable requirements, are considered to have met the education requirements.
