Terminal Visual Charting Specialist
Leidos is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist the Terminal Charting Team on the NISC IV contract, an Aeronautical Information team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The role involves creating, maintaining, and distributing aeronautical charts and data for air traffic control and the flying community.
Responsibilities- Learn Aeronautical Information.
- Analyze the National Flight Data Digest (NFDD).
- Evaluate aeronautical information/publications to confirm accuracy; initiate corrective action and, if necessary, accomplish amendments for affected procedures.
- Assist in cross‑checking air navigation charts and maps to verify data accuracy.
- Create and revise aeronautical charts following established procedures and guidelines.
- Contact and interact with FAA Aeronautical Information Services (AJV‑A) cartographers, specialists, and other FAA mapping/charting teams to acquire source documentation, rectify discrepancies, and respond to inquiries.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Information, Geography, or related discipline from an accredited college or university (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Bentley Systems Micro Station Open Cities and CAD software.
- Ability to obtain a public trust suitability clearance.
- Aeronautical Information knowledge.
- Cartography experience.
You must be either a US citizen or a permanent resident.
Pay Range$52,000.00 – $94,000.00
