Center Director Job Description
The Center Director will oversee daily center and program operations by:
- Ensuring that center facility is safe for children and complies with state and local laws and regulations, never leaving the center out of ratio
- Planning and facilitating professional developments for staff
- Conducting staff evaluations
- Translating written and spoken correspondence from English to Spanish and visa versa when necessary
- Overseeing the proper implementation of program curricula
- Interviewing, hiring, and training new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements.
- Completing ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures.
- Maintaining positive relationships with children, staff and parents
- Working well as a member of collaborative team focused on positive outcomes
- Participating in annual calendar events
- Conducting regular parent tours, reserving one Saturday per month for tours
- Completing other duties as assigned
Other Requirements:
- Meet the State Office of Child Care requirements for a director.
- Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Practice excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times.
- Provide two professional references.

Salary is based on experience and education. Daycare leadership experience will be weighed more heavily.
- Fluent English speaker
- Proficient Spanish speaker
- Meet the State Office of Child Care requirements for a director.
- Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
