Under the supervision of the Program Administrator and the Childcare Staff, the Substitute Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the classroom program. This position would be as needed one only from Monday – Friday. The KFICCC facility is located in Silver Spring, MD.

• Help to set up the classroom for the daily activities.
• Assist in the implementation of the lessons and activities related to the curriculum.
• Assist in the supervision of the children; children are never to be left alone.
• Assist in assuring individual childcare plans are being followed. Confer with childcare staff immediately if concerns arise pertaining to a child’s condition or needs.
• Assist in the completion of necessary paperwork.
• Assist with food preparation, serving and clean-up.
• Keep current on children’s medical and developmental status.
• Assist in keeping the classroom clean and orderly. Clean indoor and outdoor equipment and supplies when needed.
• Assure safe environments and report any accidents, severe behavioral problems or potentially dangerous situations.
• Assist with the program wherever else necessary as indicated by the Childcare Staff, Administration or Nursing Staff.

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must have some experience working with children.
• Must have pre-employment medical exam and TB test.

• Must be able to lift and or carry up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling and pushing.

Pay Rate : $17.65/hr
