Logistics Support Specialist

Work Schedule / Availability:
Standard duty hours: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday
Additional hours: evenings and weekends as required to support scheduled programs, tours, and special events.

Role

Description:

Provides logistics, property accountability, and facilities support services, including acquisition assistance, receiving, inventory control, warehouse management, and coordination of facility repairs. Performs DMLSS data operations and reporting, develops and maintains SOPs, and uses Microsoft 365 tools to track actions and support day-to-day operational coordination. This position will also act as the on site POC, or Contract Manager.

Functional Responsibilities:

Acquisition & Receiving

  • Track purchase requests, orders, and delivery status; coordinate follow-up as needed.
  • Receive shipments; verify quantities/condition against documentation; document and resolve discrepancies.

Inventory Control & Property Accountability:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, issue/return logs, and property accountability documentation in support of audits and reconciliations.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory reconciliations; research and resolve variances.

Warehouse & Storage Operations:

  • Organize and maintain warehouse/storage areas, labeling, and location controls.
  • Coordinate storage, movement, and distribution of supplies and equipment; support deliveries as required.

DMLSS Data Operations & Reporting:

  • Execute DMLSS transactions to support inventory/equipment accountability (data entry, updates, reconciliations).Generate routine
  • DMLSS reports; validate data accuracy and support corrective actions.

Facilities Coordination:

  • Coordinate facility repair and maintenance requests; track work orders through completion.
  • Maintain documentation related to service calls, repairs, and facility support activities.

Safety/Security Support:

  • Support site safety and security procedures consistent with local requirements (e.g., safety checks, reporting, access coordination as assigned).

SOP Development & Process Improvement:

  • Draft, update, and maintain SOPs for receiving, inventory, warehouse operations, property accountability, and event logistics.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, compliance, and traceability.

Event & Operational Support:

  • Support event logistics including set-up/tear-down, staging, deliveries, and space preparation as required.
  • Provide responsive customer service and coordination to meet mission and operational needs.

Education / Experience /

Certifications:

Experience:

Minimum 4+ years supporting logistics, warehouse operations, facilities support, receiving, inventory control, and/or property accountability. Experience writing SOPs and training others on processes.

Systems:
Demonstrated hands-on experience with DMLSS including transactions/data entry and reporting (required).

Technical:
Expert proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to support deliveries and event logistics activities as required.

Tools / Technical

Skills:

DMLSS transaction processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
Inventory and warehouse workflows; receiving/shipping documentation practices.
Microsoft 365-based tracking and reporting (spreadsheets, shared files, task coordination).

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work at computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment. May be required to stand/walk, grasp, reach, stoop/kneel/crouch, or climb/balance. Occasionally required to drive to other locations. Must have clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and ability to identify and distinguish colors in order to observe and inspect construction sites.
