Description
As a member of the GRMC Multi-Specialty Network, the Clinic Practice Nurse is responsible for ensuring timely and safe high-quality care to all patients. S/he establishes nursing policies and procedures, care plans, and achieves quality standards. The nurse assesses and evaluates patient needs, including physiological and psychological changes, and supports physicians and mid-level providers in delivering timely, high-quality care.
Essential Functions
- Obtains patient history, performs assessments, documents findings using EMR, and analyzes clinical data.
- Reviews diagnostic studies, focusing on critical values and timely communication.
- Monitors test and procedure outcomes, ensuring timely completion and communication.
- Directs patients and families for procedures and testing.
- Provides triage and advice via telephone using approved protocols.
- Educates patients and families on health, treatment, and community resources.
- Maintains a safe, confidential, and standards-compliant environment.
- Oversees patient care and medication management.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education & Training Requirements
- Valid New Mexico or multi-state RN license.
- BSN preferred.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Experience in surgical practice or office nursing preferred.
- Two years of acute care experience preferred.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with EMRs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
