Pay Range: $20.80–$22.02 hourly ($43,264–$50,900 annual)
Responsibilities- Act under general supervision to prepare and process court documents, perform judicial procedures, and support the case management system.
- Open, docket, and close cases using the case management system, entering data, scanning documents, and linking related images.
- Process filings, review for correct format, signatures, event codes, and filing fees; conduct electronic filing for incoming documents.
- Reconcile case fees, prepare deposits, and manage cash handling procedures.
- Process and expedite orders of protection, bond payments, and prepare bond reports.
- Prepare, proofread, edit and mail documents such as notices and final orders.
- Assist with clerical duties for jury management including summons, jury lists, seating charts, and trial schedules.
- Maintain court records, exhibits, tapes, and logs for appeals and court monitoring.
- Serve as a court monitor and ensure equipment and facilities are operational.
- Advise internal staff on jury procedures and coordinate with specialty programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience in court case processing, legal secretarial, or related field (e.g., advanced customer service, data processing, banking).
- Typing certification: 35 words per minute (New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions). Must be issued within 5 years.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, jury service, filing methods, specialty court programs, research, and court fee accounting.
- Ability to interact positively with judges, attorneys, litigants, and the public.
- Valid driver’s license; travel may be required.
