Speech Language Pathologist

Wing Elementary Certified Opening

Reports to:

Special Education Process Coordinator and/or Building Principal

To provide students of Sikeston R-6 Schools educational instruction that will foster and accelerate their intellectual, physical, social, and career development in accordance with district policies and procedures.

• Evaluate and identify students with potential speech and/or language impairments
• Provide speech and/or language services to students as needed
• Write student goals for speech and language services
• Conduct meetings with parents and team members
• Provide Medicaid billing services for the school district
• Provide teachers with intervention strategies they can utilize with students in the classroom if there are areas of concern in speech or language
• Complete IEPs
• Write evaluation reports for speech only students
• Complete IEPs and re-evaluations under the compliance timelines

• Education level Master's Degree in Speech Pathology
• Certification or Licensure appropriate and current Missouri Teaching Certificate in Speech & Language Pathology or ASHA certification.
• Other requirements Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the Board of Education. Excellent organizational skills, oral and written skills, time management, and telephone skills. Computer knowledge and assistive technology.
