As part of Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities team, lead initiatives that improve retail utility operations, streamline internal processes, and ensure efficient, customer-focused delivery of essential services. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to strengthen system performance, implement operational improvements, and support high-quality service for the Sikeston community. You’ll travel occasionally.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead operational improvement projects across electric distribution, water plant and distribution operations, and sanitary sewer plant and collection systems
  • Analyze operational data to enhance reliability, efficiency, safety, and customer experience
  • Coordinate technology upgrades, including AMI systems, outage management tools, and customer service platforms
  • Develop workflows, documentation, and process improvements supporting all retail utility operations
  • Support regulatory compliance and maintain operational standards for electric, water, and sanitary sewer systems
  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, field operations, and customer service teams to implement effective solutions
  • Provide technical expertise for operations projects, equipment upgrades, and system enhancements
  • Assist with vendor coordination, procurement, and project delivery
  • Provide on-site support as needed for system evaluations, inspections, or project deployment activities

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or a related technical field
  • 5 or more years of experience in utility operations, engineering, or process improvement
  • Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, or modeling/analysis software
  • Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) in the state or ability to obtain through reciprocity.

Bonus points if you bring these, too:

  • Master’s degree in civil, environmental, or biosystems/agricultural engineering
  • Experience in electric, water, or sanitary sewer utility operations
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or relevant operational/project management certifications
  • Knowledge of AMI systems, utility distribution technologies, or customer information systems
  • Familiarity with EPA/DNR compliance and utility regulatory requirements
