More About Our TeamCanyon Vista Medical Center is located in the beautiful high desert of southeastern Arizona, serving residents in Sierra Vista, Ft. Huachuca, Cochise County – a population of more than 131,000 people. We are nestled in the San Pedro River Valley, 75 miles southeast of Tucson. Canyon Vista Medical Center was founded in 1963 as Western Baptist Osteopathic Hospital on what was then the eastern edge of Sierra Vista.
Growth and advancing technology led to the new 177,000 square foot hospital at 5700 E Hwy 90 completed in 2015.
The Sonographer performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures under the general guidance of physicians and providers within the acute-care hospital setting. This role delivers high-quality imaging services across all patient populations, ensures accurate diagnostic results, and maintains a safe and comfortable patient experience. The Sonographer operates and troubleshoots ultrasound equipment, assists with routine and invasive procedures, and upholds all infection control, safety, and documentation standards.
This position requires strong technical proficiency, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and the imaging team to support timely, patient-centered care.

Applicants should have:
- Associate s degree Required;
Graduate of approved program of Ultrasound/Sonography or equivalent. - Graduation/completion of a program in Ultrasound sonography required.
- ARDMS Registered or, if new graduate, must be ARDMS eligible and pass a test in at least one area (i.e. Abdomen, OBGYN) including physics within one year of employment. Must receive ARDMS certification within 18 months of hire.
- State license to practice as a Sonographer.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
