  Oversight and training is in place to ensure we offer a rigorous, scholar-centered, classical education program including high expectations, values and virtues and providing scholars an environment of engaged learning.

The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of the School lunch program’s daily operations and needs. The Food Service Coordinator is directly responsible for ensuring and coordinating the logistical needs of the cafeteria during lunch time, and for ensuring the safety of all scholars by all Leman Academy staff & volunteers during lunch.

Line of Authority/Reports to
:
The Food Service Coordinator shall be directly responsible to the Site Principals in providing services required for the administration of the school in order to assure the smooth, efficient operation of the cafeteria and play areas during lunch time.

Job Goal
:
The Food Services Coordinator for Leman Academy serves in a pivotal role to provide a safe environment for all scholars and for the provision of the food services program within each site.

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
• AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance.
• First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Food Handler’s Card.
• Negative TB test (taken within the last 12 months).
• Food Service experience preferred.
• Working Knowledge of best food handling, kitchen management and safety practices.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to positively impact school community with an ability to build strong relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with scholars, parents, co-workers, vendors and build relationships.
• Strong commitment to providing leadership in promoting health and safety, including a healthy environment.
• Ability to operate office equipment as required on assignment; i.e. fax machine, copier, computer, etc.
• Ability to lift boxes and packages of varying weights and move them to other locations.

• Helps ensure all policies, procedures and performance standards for Leman Academy and the food services program are met daily under the direction of the Site Principals.
• Ensure school kitchen and cafeteria is operating within normal food service regulations i.e. regular cleaning, temperature of foods, disposal of waste product, allergy awareness etc.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for scholars and staff. Comply with applicable policies, rules and regulations, including safety, health, child care.
• Ensure daily coverage by staff and volunteers of all cafeterias and recess areas.
