Position Reports ToNutrition Services Manager
Department DescriptionWilson Health's Dietary Food & Nutritional Services Department is responsible for providing excellent (patient, staff, and guest) focused nutritional care. Staff is dedicated to providing nutritious and delicious meals along with excellent customer service through efficient meal delivery.
Job SummaryThe Dietary Assistant performs a variety of dietary food service duties anywhere on the Wilson Health property where food is prepared and served by nutritional services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Apportions and places food servings on plates and trays according to diet list on menu card.
- Assists customers with opening containers and cutting food when requested.
- May interact with patients regarding food orders, menu selection and diet needs.
- Brews coffee and tea.
- Sets up stations with entrées, soups, salads, breads, condiments, other food products and utensils.
- May be responsible for loading and unloading dish machine and the cleanliness of dishware.
- Keeps the dish machine clean and reports any functional or mechanical problems to the manager immediately regarding any kitchen equipment including dish machine.
- Monitors dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
- Assist with and storing all tableware and kitchenware.
- Maintains adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
- Bags and hauls trash to dish area or dumpster.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- 1-3 months of previous dietary or related experience preferred
