If you are a Technician professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will support the design, development, and qualification of oil-free centrifugal compressors for HVACR systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside product and design engineers in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment.

• Assemble and test centrifugal compressors following detailed engineering build instructions.
• Operate laboratory assembly and measurement equipment, including hydraulic presses, micrometers, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, voltage meters, and standard hand tools.
• Fabricate supporting components for non-standard tests, including brazing, soldering, grinding, sanding/lapping, drilling/tapping, and wiring.
• Collect and document build data to ensure compliance with standards and takt times.
• Assist with general laboratory upkeep and maintenance.

• Associate degree in a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Practical, hands‑on experience working with mechanical equipment and basic instrumentation.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

• Five (5) or more years of experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
• Hands‑on expertise in mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing equipment.
• Tool and die experience.
• Familiarity with controls systems and basic PLC concepts.
• Experience with brazing and soldering techniques.
• Background or certifications in automotive or diesel mechanics.

Our newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading‑edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit. Through our many years of compressor expertise, our products help bring comfort and convenience to refrigeration, commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
