-based operational headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, Auria operates 16 manufacturing, 9 technical and 5 JV locations across 10 countries and employs approximately 3,900 people worldwide. We are currently searching for a Materials Manager to join our team at our Sidney Plant in Sidney, Ohio.
- Ensuring the safe operation of the plants material handling equipment in accordance with published plant and corporate guidelines for:
- Fork Lifts
- Tuggers
- Docks, dock locks, chocks, doors, plates
- Switchers, trucks and trailers
- Storage, racking and warehousing
- Develop CI actions to ensure compliance
- Develop a team that has mastered the use of the Auria ERP system, “lean manufacturing” tools, customer systems and Auria Supply Chain Management processes to support the requirements of both our internal and external customers; "the right part, in the right place, at the right time, in the right quantity for the right cost"
- Oversee the SCM team to ensure both customer and internal metrics are maintained at acceptable levels and a proper continuous improvement plan with defined actions, responsibilities and delivery dates that are clearly understood by the team
- Manage the plants SCM continuous improvement plan
- Manage the ECN process as it pertains to the continuous flow of materials both inbound and outbound
- Ensure the plant understands, utilizes and achieves it logistics plan
- Manage the plants inventory, ensuring policy and procedures are implemented to achieve accuracy and turn objectives
- Manage the physical inventory process to ensure accuracy and alignment with corporate policy
- Maintain clear written work instruction for assignments, auditing, counting, tag accountability, reconciliation
- The count team is trained prior to the start of the physical
- The count is accurate and posted timely
- Root cause investigation is performed on the 20% of the items that make up 80% of the variance
- That actions to implement permeant corrective actions are added to the SCM CI matrix
- Manage CI actions to achieve 98% + inventory accuracy
- Manage the SCM team to ensure 100% on time delivery to the customer and develop CI actions for all issues preventing achievement of the objective
- Manage the supply base and SCM team to ensure 100% OTD for purchased goods and ensure CI actions are developed for any issue preventing achievement of the objective
- Manage the team to ensure all customer requirements, metrics and systems are utilized to acceptable levels
- Ensure that the plant has a proper escalation process with increasing levels of communication, both internal and external, ensuring that both internal leadership and the external customer are aware of any potential delays to shipment prior to their occurrence
- Participate with the plant management team to achieve targets, goals and objectives
- Other duties as assigned
Education
- BS/BA Required
- (5) five or more years’ experience Supervising in a manufacturing environment, prefer union experience
- Previous experience working with ERP systems
- Plex experience strongly preferred
- Priority setting and time management
- Action oriented / produces results
- Lean Manufacturing understanding such as SMED, TPM, Kanban
- Manages a broad functional area
- Excellent computer including typing and the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and planning concepts
- Must be a team player having excellent communication, organization, negotiation, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Must be able to function in a fast pace and high demanding environment
- Ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task and follow direction
