Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for night shifts at a critical access hospital, requiring an active MT or compact RN license and relevant certifications.
Responsibilities- Work in the Emergency Department of a critical access hospital
- Provides emergency care to patients of all ages, including trauma and urgent conditions
- Full-time night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract assignment
- May operate and assist with emergency equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and ventilators
- Provide triage, assessment, treatment, and stabilization for emergency patients across the lifespan
- Respond to trauma activations and medical emergencies
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions per protocol
- Collaborate with providers, EMS, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and transfers
- Accurately document all patient assessments and interventions in the electronic health record
- Support and educate patients and families regarding care and follow-up
- Work in a supportive, close-knit team in a rural healthcare environment
- Opportunities for professional growth and continuing education are available
- Active MT or compact RN license
- Minimum of 1 year relevant nursing experience required
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are required
- PALS and TNCC certifications are preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move patients as needed
- Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Emergency, ICU, or acute care nursing experience preferred
