Salary: £12.60 - £13.60 per hour depending on experience
Contract:
Permanent, 12‑hour shifts – full & part‑time roles available, primarily nights
Job description:
Abbotsleigh Mews is a purpose‑built care home welcoming those in need of nursing, residential and dementia care. Short stay, convalescence and palliative care are also available. The home is organised into different houses for various types of care and is surrounded by landscaped grounds. Residents have access to lounge and dining areas, a sensory room and activity rooms. Registered nurses and well‑trained care assistants create a friendly atmosphere, supporting independence while ensuring that all care needs are met.
Residents are served nutritious, individually tailored meals – afternoon tea, fresh fruit platters and homemade cakes are popular. A versatile activities programme helps residents maintain independence with hobbies, coffee mornings Hemp outing, music, arts & crafts, with weekly visits from a neighbouring nursery as part of an initiative to bring old and young together.

- Support residents with a wide range of requirements, from companionship to streng personal care.
- Observe and manage residents’ behaviour with care, documenting and reporting changes in accordance with legislation.
- Support residents’ nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.
- Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both group and individually.
- Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Motivation, positivity, and great interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Desirable:
Previous experience in a care home or a Health and Social Care qualification.
