PurposeOf
The Role
As a Business Support Administrator you will be part of a growing, successful team delivering high‑quality services to clients. You will support the work of the wider teams and represent Affinia to clients and partners during visits. The Business Support team undertakes client‑facing and chargeable administration tasks, requiring good communication and presentation skills and extensive use of Microsoft applications. You will receive full training on any specialised systems used.
AccountabilitiesThe role covers a wide range of day‑to‑day tasks that keep the business running smoothly. You’ll manage client onboarding, prepare official documents, and handle submissions.
- Electrical and manual client onboarding; letters of engagement; client portal administration; new company in corporations; allocation of client codes; and sending documents and client packs for electronic signature.
- Full understanding of the ‘lost client’ process and creation of clearance packs for NLA clients.
- Basic company secretarial work (e.g. AP01, share transfers), completion of CS01s, submission of accounts, and support for CT600s and other tax returns.
- Support booking in and out of books and records; HMRC agent authorisations.
- Act as an agent on the Admin Support ticketing system, responding to queries in line with SLA targets across all assigned queues.
- Data cleanse work; support front‑of‑house team with monthly reminders; set‑up of Direct Debits; monitor monthly deadlines, manage deadline extensions; send out bulk mail merges.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Strong communication skills, able to engage at all seniority levels.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications.
- Willingness to acquire new skills through on‑the‑job training.
- Accurate typing skills.
- Discretion, self‑motivation, anticipation of issues, and good judgement.
- Experience in an accountancy practice desirable, but not essential.
- Minimum five GCSEs at grade C (4) or above, including Maths and English.
