We are looking for a skilled and proactive Fabric Technician to join our on‑site engineering team and support the delivery of a high‑quality workplace experience for our client.
About the RoleAs a Fabric Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the building’s fabric, ensuring a safe, functional, and well‑presented environment. You will respond to reactive tasks, carry out planned maintenance, and support small project works as part of a collaborative site‑based team.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to reactive maintenance issues across the site.
- Complete PPM tasks and project works within agreed timescales.
- Liaise professionally with client representatives regarding repairs and maintenance activities.
- Conduct site surveys and prepare method statements, risk assessments, and work requests.
- Carry out repairs on walls, floors, ceilings, and other building fabric.
- Plan and manage refurbishment works for fabric and decoration.
- Support general building tasks, including lighting support, basic plumbing, and filter changes for AHUs/FCUs.
- Use a PDA to receive tasks, record updates, and close out work.
- Ensure all work is delivered safely and in compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
- Undertake reasonable additional tasks as instructed by the Technical Services Manager.
- Experience in fabric maintenance or carpentry.
- Strong background working in high‑profile or commercial environments.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Good customer service skills with a professional attitude.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage own workload.
- Understanding of H&S processes (e.g., COSHH, working at height, risk assessments).
- Flexible approach with willingness to work beyond core hours when needed.
- City & Guilds / NVQ in Carpentry or relevant fabric trade (experience also considered).
- IOSH or NEBOSH certification (advantageous but not essential).
- Basic IT skills (PDA, email, digital forms).
