Breast Care Nurse

Overview

Breast Care Nurse role at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The post holder will carry continuing responsibility for a defined caseload, including setting standards of care, assessing care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care. The post holder will provide advanced nursing expertise to a specific patient group and contribute to the development of the specialty service as well as contributing to the strategic direction of nursing within the Trust.

The post holder will ensure cost effective use of resources.

• Provide advanced nursing expertise to a specific patient group.
• Carry a defined caseload with responsibility for setting standards of care, assessing care needs, and developing, implementing and evaluating care programmes.
• Contribute to the development of the specialty service and to the strategic direction of nursing within the Trust.
• Ensure cost effective use of resources.

• Must have previous experience working at Band 7 (or above) Nurse Practitioner level.
• Experience of service development and/or change management.
• Experience in audit and standard setting.
• Staff management experience.
• Highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience.
• Standards of professional practice.
• Experience of recruitment and selection.
