Start your journey of Growth with Mller Yogurts and Desserts (MYD) as a Manufacturing Apprentice. Join us as part of our Manufacturing Academy and learn every aspect of our manufacturing process, with the aim of progressing to a Technical Operator.
Apprenticeship programmeThe apprenticeship is a full‑time role of 40 hours a week with the opportunity to experience shift work. You will receive full support, development and training to become one of our Technical Operators. At the end of the programme you will gain the L3 Standard Food & Drink Technical Operator Apprenticeship.
What the role involves- Operate our manufacturing machinery and plant, following standard operating procedures, new trials and manufacturing methods.
- Conduct start‑ups, close‑downs and change‑over procedures.
- Perform fault finding, engineering maintenance and asset care.
- Maintain knowledge of legislation, food safety, HACCP, health & safety, risk assessments and wider industry awareness.
- Understand end‑to‑end raw‑material and supply‑chain processes.
- Ensure quality assurance and compliance, maintaining hygienic standards of the production environment.
- GCSE Grade C and above in Maths, English & Science (or EU equivalent).
- Flexibility to stay and travel to accommodation for project work or learning activities at other Mller sites (expenses covered).
- Must be over 16 years of age.
- Must not be engaged in other full‑time education.
- Must be living in the UK.
Hours:
A full‑time role of 40 hours per week with potential to experience shift working. Pay: £18,500 salary, with an increase after successful completion of the first year of the apprenticeship programme.
