Recruit4staff are proud to represent a leading food manufacturing company in Telford in their search for a Machine Operator. Candidates must be willing to attend psychometric testing at the first stage.

• Starting salary of £33,733, rising with experience/skill, up to £43,487 after 12 months.

• Permanent role, 4 on 4 off, 12‑hour rotating shifts (07:25‑19:35 / 19:35‑07:25).

• Holiday pay based on average hours worked: 5 weeks + 8 bank holidays after 1 year.

• Stay hands‑on with machinery, spotting faults, investigating issues and problem‑solving to prevent downtime.
• Ensure 100% compliance with Food Safety, Quality and Health & Safety standards.
• Run the line according to standard operating procedures, including start‑up and changeovers.
• Lead a line with machine operators, train and drive performance.
• Liaise with development teams for improvements on standards to drive continuous improvement and support refining processes to boost productivity.
• Take ownership of the production line’s performance, ensuring efficient operation and complete control.

• Strong technical mindset, enjoys setting and operating machinery – ESSENTIAL.
• First‑line machine maintenance experience – ESSENTIAL.
• Technically competent to solve problems, take action to ensure delivery, and gain support when needed.
• Experience with changeovers/basic machine maintenance – ESSENTIAL.
• Excited by learning new techniques & technology, driven for continuous improvements and lean manufacturing.
• Effective communicator, listens and gives clear instructions, not afraid of challenge, gains support from experts when needed.
• Ideally experienced in the food or processing industry – not essential.
• Must be happy/available to attend a numerical and verbal reasoning test – ESSENTIAL.
