You must have current NHS experience with a strong focus on delivery and a desire for success. You should have the skills to prioritise workload, in a fast‑paced environment, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and motivate others effectively.

This is a part‑time vacancy; 30 hours per week to include Fridays.

The successful candidate will be one of a team of Assistant Service Managers responsible for supporting the Operational Managers in the management of the business activities of the Medicine Centre to ensure delivery of its strategic and operational objectives in line with the Operational Delivery Plan and Accountability Agreement.

The post holder will fulfil a crucial role in fostering excellent communication and working relationships with the clinical specialities, their teams and stakeholders. They will be responsible for our ambitious programme for service improvement and sustained delivery of key local and national performance standards including 18‑week RTT and Cancer waiting times.

You will be joining a dedicated team with a breadth of experience and a commitment to ensuring organisational success.

Teams within the Medicine Centre consist of an Operational Manager, Assistant Operational Manager, Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager and Medical Administrator. The successful applicant will be working alongside another Assistant Service Manager within the Cardiology and Diabetes and Endocrinology team, reporting to the Service Manager but also working with and supported by the other teams within medicine.
