Overview

In Telford/Shropshire we are proud to be at the front line of integrated multi-agency work with Neurodiverse (ND) children and their families. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside professionals with ND expertise and to be part of the BeeU team delivering ND assessments for children and young people aged 5-18 with social communication and interaction concerns.

Responsibilities
  • Complete ADI-R assessments and ADOS assessments
  • Conduct initial Neurodevelopmental assessments
  • Carry out school observations
  • Triaging referrals
  • Deliver high quality ND assessments within the BeeU team, with a focus on children and young people aged 5-18 years with significant concerns around social communication and interaction
  • ADHD assessment involving interpretation and integration of complex data from various sources including psychological data, self-report measures (where appropriate), rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews
  • Contribute to and lead on autism assessments for children with complex social, interaction and communication difficulties, including the use of standardised tools such as ADI-R and ADOS
  • Ensure assessments are provided in line with NICE Guidance and other relevant local and national documentation
  • Demonstrate high personal standards in clinical practice
  • Prioritise workload, allocate work to oneself and other staff, and cover all levels of priority within the service
  • Make clinical judgements backed by clinical reasoning and provide recommendations regarding appropriate actions or signposting in consultation with multi-disciplinary staff and in accordance with the service specification
Qualifications / Experience
  • Experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Ability to interpret and integrate data from multiple sources for neurodevelopmental assessments
  • Familiarity with standardised assessment tools (e.g., ADI-R, ADOS)
  • Commitment to working in line with NICE Guidance and relevant documentation
  • Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making abilities
