Purpose of the Role

The Wrap Around Care & After school Club Supervisor will take responsibility for the day to day leadership and delivery of Embrace’s wrap‑around and after school provision within school settings.

The role focuses on creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where children can unwind after the school day, engage in purposeful play, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and independence.

The Supervisor will lead sessions, support staff, liaise with parents and schools, and ensure the provision meets Embrace standards, safeguarding requirements, and school expectations. The post holder will be responsible under the direction of the Embrace Group Directors.

Major Tasks
  • Work under the instruction/guidance of the Wraparound Childcare and EYFS guidance.
  • Comply with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection, EYFS, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Security, Confidentiality and Data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
  • Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
  • Be responsible for planning, monitoring and organising activities.
  • Ensure that extended day provision is compliant with all Health and Safety and Food hygiene documentation.
  • Act as a designated first aider within the provision.
  • Order catering supplies.
  • Manage and upkeep the booking system.
  • Complete daily registration on the booking system.
Contacts and Relationships
  • Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to activities.
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by Wraparound Childcare Staff team.
  • Promote good pupil behaviour, deal promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
  • Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers.
  • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
  • Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
Creativity
  • Ensure appropriate play opportunities are available for the children of all ages.
  • Take overall responsibility for the day‑to‑day activities of the club.
Decisions
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Be aware of and support differences and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities.
  • Be fully aware and comply with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection, Health & Safety, Security, Confidentiality and Data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all checks in relation to food hygiene are completed.
  • Reorder catering supplies.
  • Manage and upkeep the booking system.
  • Confirm daily registration on the booking system.
  • Log the administration of first aid and record accidents as and when required.
