Overview
Shropshire Council are looking for a proactive individual with good attention to detail to be a Senior Financial Accountant joining our Technical Accounting team who provide technical advice across the Council and help to deliver our statutory financial duties. This role will lead on the financial administration of the Council's accountable body arrangements and the production and publication of financial data under the Transparency Agenda.
This role will assist with the production of the Council's Statement of Accounts.
To succeed in this role you will be AAT qualified, hold an equivalent business/accounting degree or working towards a CCAB qualification. You will have knowledge and understanding of local government finance and experience of providing financial advice and support. You will be a positive, results-driven, proactive team player with good attention to detail and the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels across the Council.
