Job Summary
Ensures the provision of high quality patient care while managing the clinical staff of the ASC. Responsible for the overall daily function of the ASC. Responsible for directing, coordinating and controlling the multi-disciplinary activities required for providing a safe environment for patients undergoing surgical intervention. Promotes a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Assist with hiring, evaluation, discipline; train, orient, and evaluate workloads for the ASC staff.
- Resolve conflicts, mediate, and enforce compliance with policies by employees and physicians.
- Formulate and implement a clinical philosophy and objectives consistent with the ASC goals.
- Develop policies, procedures, and staffing essential to achieving the philosophy and objectives of the ASC; review and revise in collaboration with the Clinical Advisory Committee, clinical staff, and professional staff.
- Evaluate programs and patient care activities.
- Ensure continued compliance with regulatory standards and document patient care to meet legal, state, and federal health standards.
- Develop an organizational structure, assign responsibilities, and delegate authority to facilitate safe, effective, and efficient care for surgical patients.
- Provide leadership and support; maintain effective relationships with staff.
- Establish, maintain, analyze, and evaluate standards of nursing care within the facility in compliance with professional nursing standards.
- Collaborate on performance standards and maintain relationships with clinical and professional personnel and support services such as housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and accounting.
- Recruit, retain, evaluate, and supervise clinical and professional personnel.
- Initiate and/or support activities to control costs without compromising patient care.
- Ensure existing policies and procedures are understood and implemented.
- Recommend medical supplies and equipment purchases based on evaluation of new or improved products.
- Provide appropriate resources for meeting staff educational needs.
- Supervise collection of all required records and reports.
- Communicate effectively with all staff and ensure necessary information is disseminated.
- Hold individual employees accountable for assigned responsibilities through annual performance reviews.
- Have general nursing knowledge of all surgical procedures performed at the ASC.
- Supervise and perform peri-operative nursing care as needed.
- Evaluate the environment where patient care activities occur and make appropriate changes.
- Coordinate performance-improvement programs for equipment, procedures, and policy changes in the ASC.
- Serve as patient advocate and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Have thorough knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and its application.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required.
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrated leadership experience.
- Ability to manage day-to-day activities and operations, while also strategizing and implementing solutions for future success.
- Preferred charge/lead/coordinator position within an ASC or Operating Room setting.
- Personnel management experience and process improvement experience.
- MA licensed.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods; assist patients with mobility difficulties; push, pull, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation.
- BS Nursing preferred, MS preferred.
Salary range: $80,000-$155,000 + bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
