Overview
The Lighthouse Maternal Mental Health Service in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin is seeking a Principal Psychologist to join the Lighthouse Maternal Mental Health Service in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. This opportunity may also include working into our closely linked Maternity Review Psychology and Operation Lincoln Psychology Services as required. We are looking for a highly motivated clinician with substantial expertise in maternal mental health, who is interested in taking on a senior role with a particular focus on holding complex cases, clinical supervision, and leadership in close collaboration with the Consultant Psychologist.

Closing date: 09 February 2026. The post is available on a full-time basis from April 2026. We may consider 0.8 wte for suitable candidates by negotiation.
Main dutiesThe role is to deliver a specialist Psychology service within the Lighthouse Maternal Mental Health Service in Shropshire Telford and Wrekin. There will be a particular focus on holding complex cases and clinical supervision of other Clinical/Counselling Psychologists working in the service, and leadership for the service in close collaboration with the Consultant Psychologist. The role may also include duties as required into our closely related services;
the Maternity Review Psychology Service, offering specialist support for families who were part of the Ockenden Review into maternity care at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust (SaTH), and the Operation Lincoln Psychology Service, offering specialist support for families who are part of the West Mercia Police investigation into maternity services at SaTH.

Person Specification Qualifications and Experience- HCPC Registered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with significant experience working as a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
- Additional post-qualification training related to trauma and loss
- Significant experience of holding a complex caseload
- Formal training in supervision
- Experience working in maternal mental health
- experience and/or formal training in leadership
