The Role:An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Agriculture Accounts Assistant to join the team. This role will be full‑time and permanent, offering variety, progression opportunities, and the chance to work directly with farming and rural business clients. The successful candidate will support the preparation of accounts, bookkeeping, and VAT returns, acting as a main point of contact for clients while ensuring accuracy, compliance and strong working relationships.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the preparation of accounts and financial reports for agricultural and rural clients
- Enter data from prime records, perform reconciliations, and complete month‑end and year‑end processes
- Process bookkeeping tasks and VAT returns accurately and efficiently
- Act as a client contact, handling queries and correspondence in a timely and professional manner
- Provide advice and support on computerised accounting and bookkeeping systems
- Level 4 AAT qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong background in accounting and bookkeeping
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, and Sage
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience working within the agricultural or rural business sector
