The Yard Supervisor Storage to VPC’s responsibility is to provide safe, effective oversight on vehicle movements and staging for 15-25 full‑time and agency staff members. Oversee FPOR and Storage shuttle movements, Fuel Island and vehicle location update accuracy in storage and staging areas, including payroll, attendance and disciplinary actions. Ensure daily objectives are achieved for the department. Ensure that all vehicles are properly updated when moved from storage to the various staging areas.
EssentialFunctions & Responsibilities
- Managing the storage to VPC, Fuel Island and vehicle location update processes and all departmental employees.
- Effectively conduct meetings and other required sessions for communication of production, quality and safety requirements.
- Ensure timeliness completion and quality of work performed by Shuttle/Yard Employees.
- Ensure vehicle locations are accurate in storage.
- Ensure all units are staged properly in truck and rail rows designated for VPC processing.
- Oversee, order and ensure accountability of equipment and appropriate materials.
- Perform periodic audits to ensure vehicle handling procedures are effectively performed.
- Ensure proper documentation is completed on each vehicle movement according to vehicle handling specifications and quality standards.
- Team leadership and motivation.
- Set and readjust head count per van to accomplish daily vehicle movement objectives.
- Follow and enforce all safety and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of transportation handling procedures preferred.
- Requires flexibility with schedule including break times as well as working extended hours, weekends, and holidays Required.
- Computer software skills with MS Word, Outlook, Excel required.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Required.
- Ability to drive both automatic and straight shift vehicles Required.
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to communicate effectively to a diverse audience mechanical abilities Required.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
- High School Diploma/G.E.D Required, Associates Degree or higher preferred.
- Must hold a valid state‑issued driver's license without restrictions Required.
- Minimum of 1 year of direct experience and 1-3 supervisory experience required OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Required.
- Drive automatic and manual shift.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Carry up to 50 lbs.
- Push/pull.
- Kneel.
- Squat/crouch.
- Stand.
