The Zone Lead (ZL) supports merchandising in designated zones and maintains an active selling culture by ensuring that all visual aspects are set and upheld to documented company standards designed to drive sales. Provides expertise in visual standards, merchandising techniques, fixturing, and implementation of all in-store marketing elements (signs, vignettes, endcaps, tables, first look/flash finds) that reinforce seasons/holidays and in-store promotions within their designated areas.
The Zone Lead influences store Team Members to be knowledgeable about visual merchandising and visual standards while always demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
Roles & Responsibilities
- The Zone Lead supports all aspects of the visual merchandising processes for the store by planning, in conjunction with the Zone Manager, and leading transitions, reinventions, product assortment changes, and resets while maintaining visual integrity, a neat/clean, organized environment, and inspiring guests to discover ideas and solutions through compelling visual merchandising.
- The ZL oversees Task Management by planning/executing the daily/weekly workload and assigned tasks in partnership with the Zone Manager to deliver on visual merchandising, department and store sales goals, guest engagement, etc., ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and timely.
- The Zone Lead participates in all freight processes for incoming freight and/or transitions, processes freight and stocks designated areas, including down stocking and end cap maintenance, while maintaining a neat, clean, organized zone.
- The ZL supports the store team in customer satisfaction, inventory control/shrink, safety, loss prevention expense control, and customer experience so the store operates effectively and profitably. Participates in regular meetings/huddles with team members on these subjects.
- The ZL serves as a role model and coach in all areas of visual merchandising experience and provides continuous learning opportunities.
- The ZL leverages daily interactions to communicate and train visual priorities and create visual moments that support the customer experience.
- The Zone Lead reviews store financial and business data from the store scorecard, including sales and expenses, and takes action within assigned zones to improve metrics.
- The Zone Lead ensures the maintenance of a neat, clean, organized zone, keeping the store up to date with current signing and sets.
- All other duties are based on business needs.
- Open Availability:
Must work nights and weekends.
- At least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Excellent verbal, written, and comprehension skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. or team lift 100 lbs.
- Ability to interpret visual merchandising presentations, relate them to the store environment, and adapt to different store designs and architecture.
- Strong attention to detail (standards, marketing, lighting, fixturing, etc.).
- Reliable and trustworthy role model for ethical and honest behavior, doing the right thing for the team member, the customer, and the company in all situations.
- Creates a sense of urgency; promotes teamwork, delegates appropriately, motivates self and team to accomplish objectives. Timely and thorough execution.
