Position: Sr. Terminal Operator

Reports to: Terminal Manager

Pay: Up to $31.50/hr

What you’ll be contributing

The Sr. Terminal Operator will complete daily loading, unloading, administration and safety requirements on site. They will also actively participate in site maintenance and upkeep to drive the 5s and “make it better” programs. The Sr. Terminal Operator will actively engage with customers to ensure we provide a solid customer experience on site. The Sr. Terminal Operator will be able to operate all mobile equipment on site effectively and complete basic maintenance functions.

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines
  • Gain full understanding and demonstrate adherence to the safety program
  • Load trucks as per the daily schedule utilizing the onsite systems
  • Unload product as per the daily schedule utilizing the onsite systems
  • Handle inquiries and orders for customers and sales personnel
  • Maintain shipping logs, prepare bills of lading, and calculate split-load tonnages based on a customer's instructions
  • Complete independently all safety checks and audits on site
  • Maintain supply point and 5S standards
  • Operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently on site
  • Complete basic maintenance of equipment on site
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
To succeed in this position, you will need
  • High school graduation or equivalent is required
  • Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn; training will be provided
  • Independently proficient with company apps for site emails, safety incident reporting, completing training and other programs
  • Received internal or external certification for Rail Conductor, Barge and Truck Safety as per site requirements
  • Received internal or external certification for use of onsite mobile equipment as per site requirements
  • Demonstrate the safe operations of site equipment
What to expect in a cement environment

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations up to 250 feet. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
