Title​/Abstractor

This position is located in East Texas and Northwest Louisiana.

• Conduct Title Research
  :
  Review and interpret land records, deeds, lease agreements, probate records, conveyances, and other legal documents from courthouses or digital sources to determine surface and mineral ownership.
• Establish Chain of Title
  :
  Trace the ownership history of a tract of land or mineral interest, ensuring a clear and marketable title for leasing or drilling.
• Prepare Title Abstracts
  :
  Compile comprehensive reports summarizing ownership, leasehold interests, easements, encumbrances, and defects affecting title.
• Identify Title Defects
  :
  Flag inconsistencies, missing documents, unrecorded interests, or unresolved legal issues that may hinder lease acquisition or well development.
• Collaborate with Landmen & Legal Teams
  :
  Work closely with in-house or field landmen, attorneys, and title attorneys to resolve curative issues or verify title status.
• Maintain Records
  :
  Organize and maintain digital and hard-copy files related to title searches, maps, lease agreements, and ownership reports.
• Stay Compliant
  :
  Ensure all research and reporting activities comply with state regulations and internal company policies.
