CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST (BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CONSULTANT) – FT, Irwin, CA

This position is located at Weed Army Community Hospital in Fort Irwin, California. It is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Fort Irwin is located in the high desert of the Mojave, 40 miles north of Barstow, CA, and is the home of the National Training Center (NTC). The NTC is the Army’s premier training site, training over 50,000 troops a year. Weed Army Community Hospital (WACH) is a small community hospital supported by over 400 military and civilian staff members with an inpatient capacity of 20 beds, including Mother/Baby and Medical/Surgical Wards.

Major Duties:

• Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions.
• Provide evidence‑based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
• Provide primary care providers and staff with regular, concise feedback on the status of referred patients and recommendations for team‑based care.
• Implement psycho educational classes addressing high‑frequency diagnoses in the primary care clinic.
• Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid, unpaid, and volunteer work. All qualifying experience is creditable, and transcripts may be required for education-based qualifications.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Behavioral Health Consultant):

• Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
• Current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently in a U.S. state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.
• One (1) year of specialized experience conducting behavioral health assessments, providing individual and group treatment, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. No substitution of education for experience is permitted for this role.
