Unit Clerk / Unit Coordinator – Brentwood Hospital

Brentwood Hospital, a 260‑bed psychiatric and chemical‑dependency treatment facility in Shreveport, Louisiana, seeks an experienced Unit Clerk/Unit Coordinator to support nursing unit clerical functions and ensure quality patient care.

• Ensures adequate staffing on the unit to meet patient demand and adjusts accordingly as needed.
• Manages nursing payroll and completes it in a timely manner.
• Assists the Chief Nursing Officer and Nurse Managers with various administrative and clerical tasks as assigned.
• Manages the PRN pool effectively and audits compliance with the program.
• Advises the Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Managers and House Supervisor of pending staffing issues and is proactive in resolving them.

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and prior secretarial experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• One year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and prior secretarial experience preferred.
• Hours determined by the Chief Nursing Officer according to facility needs.
