Physical Therapy Assistant – PRN – Weekends
Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to work PRN on weekends. The assistant will treat patients aged 18 and older requiring rehabilitation, assist in patient care, and administer treatment programs under the direction of the Physician and Physical Therapist.
Position Summary
The Physical Therapy Assistant treats referred patients, ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric to assist in patient care, assess medical conditions, functional capabilities and limitations, and potential for rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
- Administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patients’ capacity and tolerance.
- Educate patients and families in appropriate physical therapy methods.
- Assist in patient assessment and evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtainable from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (online certification not acceptable).

- Inpatient rehabilitation experience.
