We are seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor to join our successful agency. The Licensed Professional Counselor is responsible for assisting in the evaluation and treatment of an outpatient setting. This includes performing initial and subsequent assessments, providing counseling, developing treatment plans, and communicating with patients and their families as appropriate.
Responsibilities- Work with individuals and groups to improve mental health
- Encourage clients to discuss emotions and experiences
- Address issues including aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, self-image, stress, and suicide
- Work with families
- Help clients define goals, plan actions, and gain insight
- Develop therapeutic processes
- Practice in accordance with Louisiana laws, rules, and regulations, including practicing within the scope of licensure and complying with employer requirements
- Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing mental health care through direct care, consultation, collaboration, coordination, and referral
- Maintain reasonable availability to the employer and clients at scheduled times
- Keep appropriate records of all professional services rendered
- Prepare reports, claims, and correspondence related to services, which shall be the property of the employer
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and improve skills
- Perform duties in accordance with employer policies and practices
- Provide intake evaluations, counseling, and service coordination in individual and/or group settings, including monthly sessions for part-time staff
- Maintain compliance with all regulations
- Contact family members as needed; conduct assessments, reassessments, crisis intervention, psychotherapy, and PSR
- Current state license and liability insurance to practice as an LPC
- Knowledge of TJC and LDH guidelines for LPC
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Service-oriented with effective communication skills in one-on-one settings
- High ethical standards and integrity
- Passion for helping people
