CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST (BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CONSULTANT) - FT Irwin, CA

About the Position:
This position is located at Weed Army Community Hospital in Fort Irwin, California. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

• Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions.
• Provide evidence‑based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
• Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendations for team‑based care.
• Implement psycho educational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in the primary care clinic.
• Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Behavioral Health Consultant):
Degree:
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

Selective Placement Factor:
This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.

Specialized

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS‑12).

Education:

The applicant must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone—no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Foreign education must be evaluated by a private organization, and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. For further information, visit: .
