Our confidential client is a national leader in facility power resilience, trusted by data centers, telecom carriers, manufacturers, and more to keep their operations online 24 / 7. As business demand surges, they are expanding a high-impact field team in the Gulf South. You’ll take full responsibility for sophisticated data center and power-resiliency initiatives from start to finish, act as the primary in-field representative for the company, and guide developing technicians—while hands-on with advanced uninterruptible power systems, energy storage, and generation solutions.
WhatYou Will Do
- Oversee the deployment, startup, and ongoing upkeep of power infrastructure—including DC systems, UPS units, battery banks, rectifiers, and backup generators—supporting high-availability, mission-critical environments.
- Execute live-power work safely and chair daily tailgate safety meetings; ensure strict OSHA and NFPA 70E compliance.
- Interpret one-lines, wiring diagrams, and MOPs to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Perform acceptance testing, infrared inspections, load banking, Midtronics / Fluke reporting, and quality audits before customer turnover.
- Troubleshoot and restore equipment during maintenance windows, coordinating planned “hot” cutovers with customer stakeholders.
- Train and coach Levels 1-3 technicians, fostering a culture of safety, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
- Manage documentation—time sheets, change orders, JIMs, and inventory—via mobile field applications.
- Drive a company-provided service truck and maintain DOT and CDL compliance for interstate travel.
- At least 5 years of exposure to critical electrical or power-related systems within complex technical environments, with participation in a range of operational and support functions.
- Demonstrated leadership of multi-site or multi-crew projects; proven ability to mentor junior techs.
- Proficiency with UPS platforms (Eaton/Powerware, Liebert, APC, etc.), battery chemistry, and generator integration.
- Working knowledge of AC / DC fundamentals, IEEE standards, and best-in-class safety practices.
- Valid driver’s license, clean MVR, and ability to obtain / maintain DOT medical card.
- Comfort traveling when needed and working evening / weekend maintenance windows when required.
