Overview
The Campus Leadership Coordinator is a mid-level professional role responsible for advancing leadership development opportunities for LSUS students and coordinating professional development initiatives for Student Affairs staff. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Involvement and Staff Development, the Campus Leadership Coordinator will collaborate with the Assistant Director of Student Life to design and implement leadership programs that foster student growth, engagement, and success.
This position also helps expand the reach and vibrancy of LSUS campus life by promoting and supporting leadership, engagement, and community-building events that occur during evenings and weekends. Additionally, this position serves as the lead coordinator for staff professional development within the Division of Student Affairs, working closely with the AVP to deliver meaningful training and development experiences for Student Affairs professionals.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 1 – 2 years of experience working in higher education or a related field.

- Demonstrated experience in event planning, program coordination, or student/staff development.
- Knowledge of student development theory and its application in higher education settings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel Services, or a related field.
- Experience designing and assessing student leadership programs or staff professional development initiatives.
- Familiarity with curriculum design, learning outcomes, and program evaluation in higher education.
- Prior experience in a university or Student Affairs setting.

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree;
(2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
NOTE:
The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
Student Leadership Development
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Student Life to develop, implement, and assess leadership programs such as workshops, retreats, and certificate programs.
- Support the creation of new initiatives that help students build leadership skills applicable to both campus life and future careers.
- Assist in event planning and logistical support for Student Life initiatives and leadership programming, including events held during evenings and weekends.
- Contribute to the development of learning outcomes and assessment tools that measure student leadership growth.
Staff Professional Development
- Serve as the primary coordinator for Student Affairs staff professional development initiatives, including in-house trainings, workshops, and retreats.
- Partner with the Student Affairs Leadership Team to identify, plan, and deliver professional development opportunities for Student Affairs staff at all levels.
- Track and assess participation, outcomes, and overall impact of professional development efforts.
- Research and recommend best practices in staff development and training.
General Responsibilities
- Provide event support for major Student Affairs and Student Life programs, including select evening and weekend events that advance student engagement and leadership.
- Help foster a culture of continuous student involvement by encouraging and supporting programs that extend beyond traditional hours.
