Applicants must be nursing research or nursing practice doctorate prepared and hold an unencumbered Louisiana license as a registered nurse. Applicants must also have significant administrative/leadership experience in higher education and in developing and/or coordinating DNP curricula/programs. Must have experience in building practice education partnerships and demonstrate strong interpersonal/oral written communication skills. Teaching experience at the doctoral nursing level is preferred.
Applicants must show evidence of ongoing scholarly activity, adeptness at online educational technology, and be eligible to serve as a full member of Northwestern State University's Graduate Faculty. The doctoral studies director will report directly to the College of Nursing's Senior Director of Nursing and indirectly to the College of Nursing's Dean.
• Be responsible for all aspects of the DNP program, including, but not limited to supervising and evaluating program faculty/staff, leading continuous quality improvement efforts, maintaining accreditation requirements, and developing/updating curricula and or new concentrations.
• Exploring and leading appropriate workforce-need-driven program expansion efforts that will add to the imminence of the college and university.
• Creating vibrant, inclusive, creative, rigorous, active-learning experiences for all students who choose NSU's DNP program.
• Ensuring sufficient numbers of qualified doctoral faculty to lead quality programs.
• Creating a passionate, respectful, transparent workplace environment for all program faculty and staff.
