Senior Director Of Nursing

Northwestern State University's College of Nursing and School of Allied Health (CONSAH) invites applications for the position of Senior Director of Nursing. This is a 12-month, full-time faculty position based in Shreveport, starting August 4, 2025.

Doctorate in nursing or related field, or current enrollment in a doctoral program with expected completion within 12-24 months. Eligibility for appointment to undergraduate and graduate nursing faculty, and licensure as an RN or APRN in Louisiana or eligibility for licensure. At least three years of clinical nursing experience and seven years in nursing education are required. Candidates must pass a background check and meet all employment standards as defined by the university.

• Serve as the primary representative for nursing programs to university leadership and external stakeholders.
• Provide leadership for nursing faculty in academics, research, service, and administration.
• Oversee supervision and evaluation of nursing faculty and staff, including teaching and service responsibilities.
• Collaborate to ensure curriculum alignment, policy compliance, and academic excellence.
• Oversee course offerings and accreditation compliance with relevant standards.
• Coordinate accreditation activities and participate in strategic planning.
• Manage nursing-related expenses and resources.
• Teach nursing courses using evidence-based, student-centered pedagogy.
• Maintain records for nursing programs in accordance with policies.
• Build partnerships with healthcare organizations and community stakeholders.
• Recruit and mentor students in nursing programs.
• Assess and report on student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
• Lead division meetings and support faculty development.
• Serve on committees and represent the college at events.
• Ensure a high-quality, professional student experience.
