Overview
Amazing Interventional Cardiologist Physician Opportunity Serving our Nation's Heroes at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA.
Shreveport-Bossier City is situated on the Red River in northwest Louisiana, commonly known as the 'Ark-La-Tex'. The area offers a blend of culture, education, and regional amenities, with access to year-round festivals, dining, live music and services supported by VHA Physician Total Rewards.
Responsibilities- Performs inpatient or outpatient cardiovascular consultation services.
- Performs standard diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures, including temporary pacing and permanent device implantation (Pacemakers, Loop recorders, AICD and bi-ventricular devices), direct current cardioversions, electrocardiogram interpretation, Holter monitor and ambulatory rhythm interpretation.
- Serves as academic faculty for cardiovascular fellowship training program.
- Provides medical consultative services and chart review for quality assurance purposes or risk management.
- Board certified/eligiable in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
- Board certified/eligible in electrophysiology.
- Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery from any U.S. State.
- Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment):
Assistance with payment of outstanding medical school loans. - Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 day CME).
- Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. - CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification). - Contract:
No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
