Essential Functions
Under close supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty in maintaining the waste tire facility and servicing vehicles and equipment; performs related work as assigned.

- Oversees the waste tire facility and maintains the site according to State regulations. Monitors waste tire inventory.
- Checks and logs in tires, operates counter to maintain timely and accurate tire records.
- Operates debit machine.
- Maintains an orderly work area.
- Performs basic preventative maintenance tasks such as lube, oil changes and filter replacement on County vehicles and equipment.
- Under supervision, repairs and maintains various systems on diesel and gas equipment.
- Helps repair and maintain County Equipment in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Completes work records to track completed repairs and maintenance.
- Assists mechanics with repairs of county equipment as necessary which include emergency vehicles, construction equipment, snow removal equipment, mining equipment and small engines such as weed eaters, cars, light trucks, and back-up generators.
- Operates tire changing and tire balancing equipment.
- Reads manuals and specifications and diagrams to obtain knowledge and familiarity with parts and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of methods practice, materials, instruments and tools used in equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of equipment/tire maintenance.
- Knowledge of safety practices
- Skill in basic vehicle maintenance.
- Skill in using and caring of various tools and equipment.
- Skill in maintaining records and reports.
- Skill in effectively communicating verbally and in writing.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.; AND one year experience in the service and maintenance of equipment; OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience; AND a valid Arizona drivers license.
