General Position SummaryThe Healthy Steps Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Healthy Steps team in the coordination and implementation of projects and tasks associated with Summit Healthcare’s Healthy Steps for Young Children Program service delivery. Responsible for completing projects that are cross-functional and complex in nature, supporting many projects concurrently, motivating personnel, managing competing demands, reacting well under pressure, overcoming obstacles, and leading and influencing others.
EssentialFunctions / Major Responsibilities
- Supports the work of Healthy Steps within hospital and community based environments.
- Ensures quality of program data collection and reporting.
- Ensures quality of program service delivery maintaining program fidelity.
- Represents Summit’s community outreach services and programs within environments promoting the importance of early childhood health and development, including participation on/with regional work groups and councils.
- Provides Healthy Steps care coordination services to patients and their families.
- Participates in special projects as directed.
- Displays proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect the Service Standard Behavior Guidelines.
- Promotes the Patient Safety Standards as a core value of the organization.
- Participates in relevant departmental and hospital wide informational meetings and in-services, including staff meetings, relevant hospital wide forums, and seminars approved by the Healthy Steps Director.
- Reviews department and hospital wide policies and procedures annually.
- All other duties as assigned.

Job Skills & Mental Activities
This position requires proficiency in general office equipment (including fax, printer, copy machine, and phone systems) and computer programs such as internet, e-mail, Microsoft Office, Kronos, and Health Information. This employee must be service oriented and have excellent decision-making, judgment, interpersonal, public speaking, verbal and written communication, presentation, investigative, analytical, customer service skills, organizational, multitasking, professional interpersonal, and time management skills, as well as telephone etiquette and the ability to prioritize work.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Master’s in Child Development, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, or a related field (preferred)
- Bachelor’s in Child Development, Psychology, Nursing, Social work, or related field (preferred)
- Knowledge of child development, child development related activities throughout Arizona, national and local child development and health care trends and health care services.
Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Worker is exposed to extensive computer work. Physical motions include finger dexterity, standing, walking, talking, reaching, feeling, sitting, bending, grasping, listening/hearing, handling, lifting up to 5 pounds, and repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and feet.

Bachelors or better in Psychology.
Masters or better in Psychology.
