Position Title: Classroom Teacher
Department: Elementary
Reports To: Site Principal
FLSA Status: Exempt
Calendar: Certified Teacher Contract
Salary: $51,106 - $66,606

Position Summary

The Classroom Teacher facilitates student learning by translating district curriculum standards and objectives into meaningful instructional experiences. Through direct classroom instruction and related academic responsibilities, the teacher promotes student growth, achievement, and the development of each student's academic potential.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Appropriate certification in assigned content area
  • Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Core Job Functions
  • Communicate clear learning objectives using precise, organized instruction.
  • Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned to District and State standards.
  • Develop daily lesson plans that reflect approved curriculum.
  • Differentiate instruction to address varied learning styles, abilities, interests, and special needs.
  • Implement research-based instructional practices.
  • Integrate available technology to enhance learning (e.g., Beyond Textbooks).
Assessment & Student Support
  • Utilize district and state assessment data to inform instruction and intervention placement.
  • Participate in academic reviews and intervention processes for students requiring support.
  • Effectively implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate and timely academic records in accordance with district and legal requirements.
  • Establish structured classroom routines that promote a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Document and address student behavior and attendance concerns appropriately.
  • Assume responsibility for supervision of students during school hours and school-sponsored activities.
  • Take reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities
  • Participate in team meetings, school-wide initiatives, parent conferences, and district professional development.
  • Engage in continuous reflection to improve instructional practice.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant records as required by law and district policy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal or supervisor, including committee work, student supervision, and extracurricular planning.
