Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities
  • Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
  • Follow food safety and temperature logs, and prepare foods according to instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
  • Label, package, and inventory ingredients and merchandise properly.
  • Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.
  • Maintain store layout knowledge to locate products for customers.
  • Stay informed about current, seasonal, and promotional advertisements.
  • Maintain inventory and stock levels, noting discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained, and logs are updated.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.
  • Adhere to all food safety and safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a respectful and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

    • Ability to obtain a food handler’s permit upon employment
