BAKERY/CAKE DECORATOR

Deliver an exceptional customer experience by providing courteous service and expert bakery assistance. Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment, help the department manager achieve sales and profit targets, and uphold quality assurance standards. • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions and offering samples.
• Prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, according to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Recommend and sell bakery products to ensure customers find what they need.
• Check product quality for freshness, review sell‑by dates, and use all equipment (refrigerators, freezers, ovens) following company guidelines.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Know the store layout and locate products requested by customers; keep up to date with current, seasonal, and special ads.
• Maintain inventory awareness and note discrepancies.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
• Follow all merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense, supply, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, associate, and customer engagement rules.
• Implement safety programs and report unsafe conditions or incidents to management.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and notify appropriate manager of needed repairs.
• Report safety risks, theft, robbery, fraud, or employee accidents to management.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Retail experience.
• Bakery or cake decorating experience.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Basic math skills.
• Effective communication skills.

• Second language speaking, reading, or writing proficiency.
