Job Description

The Starting Hourly Rate is $17.25 USD per hour. The Pay Range is $17.25 USD - $25.90 USD per hour.

As a General Merchandise Expert, you will be responsible for ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. You will also lead inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store.

The Role Of a General Merchandise Expert Can provide You With:

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store
• Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

As a General Merchandise Expert, No Two Days Are Ever The Same, But a Typical Day Will Most Likely Include The Following Responsibilities:

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
• Engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures, if certified.
• Execute processes including changing prices to products, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about the resources, products, and services available in the total store.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, and digital fulfillment processes.

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb up and down ladders.
• Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
• Flexible work schedule and reliable and prompt attendance.
• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
